President's Address
Sung Jun MIN
Dear esteemed secretariats, fellow chairs, and most importantly, distinguished delegates. It is my honor and privilege to serve as the president of the Human Rights Council. This will be my 9th MUN conference and 4th time chairing. I have attended many international conferences all across Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. Despite having lived in HCMC for 3 years, I have never attended SAIMUN before, so I am very looking forward to seeing how SAIMUN’s delegates approach global issues and what kind of creative solutions they bring to the table. MUN has definitely changed my perception toward the world for the better, allowing me to accept and appreciate that there are multiple perspectives on the same issue presented. Participating in different committees as a delegate, expert, advocate and chair have enabled me to acquire understanding of different issues presented at hand. In addition, it has made me appreciate and cherish what I have and feel sympathy for those that barely make it through each day. Besides MUN, I currently serve as the editor-in-chief of the school’s newspaper and public-relations officer of the student representative council. I love playing most ball sports, with the exception of golf. Life as a DP student is challenging and stressful, but I think it can be very rewarding at times and manageable with the support of your peers and teachers.
